have their own mouthpieces supplied by school. (Mouthpiece suggestion for clarinet: Vandoren hard rubber mouthpiece.
Mouthpiece suggestion for Saxophone: Selmer C Star, hard rubber) * Reeds for clarinets and saxes. Select the hardness
of reed according to your playing ability. 7th and 8th grade clarinets should be using at least #3. The Thompson
Band program does supply reeds: Clarinet $1, Alto Sax $2, Bass Clarinet, Tenor Sax and Baritone Sax $3. Any of the local
music stores sell reeds. Parents, I suggest that you buy reeds by the box so your student will have a good
reed available at all times.
